West 7th / Fort Road Federation

Saint Paul has a rich history of active and distinct neighborhoods. To support neighborhood participation in governance, the district council planning system was created over 50 years ago. The West 7th Street/Fort Road Federation is the district 9 council, representing the West 7th Street neighborhood, view map.

Our Mission

The Fort Road Federation coordinates participation in advocacy and planning and builds community connections for the residents, businesses, and nonprofit organizations of the West 7th neighborhood so that it is a place where people want to live, work, and play.

Our Commitees

Community Engagement and Fundraising Committee - Responsible for community outreach, attracting and recruiting members to participate in Federation activities, recruiting potential Board members, and ensuring participation in Federation activities is representative of all diverse members of the Federation Area. In addition, this committee is responsible for planning and developing organizational development campaigns and fundraising opportunities.

Transportation and Land Use Committee - Responsible for all transportation related matters affecting the Federation Area, including, but not limited to traffic (vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian), parking, and transit, as well as land use, zoning, and planning. Typically meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm, call or email the office to confirm.
