The West 7th/Fort Road Federation is excited to share the first round of awardees for the Sustainable Business Enhancements Grant, part of our Revitalize West 7th Program. This grant helps locally owned businesses invest in energy-efficient upgrades that reduce operating costs while supporting a healthier, more resilient West 7th corridor.
With funding from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, the following West 7th businesses received grants:
“These projects support both small businesses and our neighborhood climate goals,” said Executive Director Julia McColley. “By investing in energy-saving improvements, we’re helping local businesses thrive while strengthening the long-term sustainability of West 7th.”
The Sustainable Business Enhancements Grant provides up to $10,000 per business for eligible improvements such as energy-efficient equipment, renewable energy installations, and building upgrades.

Eligible Area
Commercial properties and projects located within District 9 (the West 7th/Fort Road Federation neighborhood) are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to businesses that have not previously received STAR funding, as well as those that increase job opportunities.
Eligible Uses & Funding Amount
Grant funds may be used for exterior improvements, as well as enhancements to the public right-of-way, public spaces, and private open spaces. The maximum award per application is $10,000.
