Proposed and current developments in our neighborhood are listed below. Unless indicated, the Federation is not a developer or owner of the project. If you have questions about the Federation's process or a specific project, please call the office at 651.298.5599 or send an email.
These projects are in some phase of study, requesting permission, or permitting.
675 Victoria Street | There proposed development would include two buildings with a total of 8 unites. The current structure would be demolished.
1324 W 7th Street | Vacant building has been demolished and a new restaurant concept "Jerry's on 7th" will be constructed with commercial tenant space.
1164 W 7th Street | The proposed development includes townhomes on the lot (7 units in total). The current structure would be demolished.
Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area (MRCCA) Zoning | The draft local ordinance would replace the existing River Corridor Overlay Districts chapter of the Saint Paul Zoning Code and move the newer, 2010-era floodplain management ordinance based on FEMA flood insurance requirements back into the Zoning Code.
Summit Avenue Regional Trail Master Plan | The City Parks and Recreation Department will engage community members to inform and develop a Master Plan for Summit Avenue that reviews the corridor from the Mississippi River to Downtown Saint Paul. This master plan will evaluate opportunities, constraints, and feasibility of a regional trail facility within the corridor and will serve as a guide to future transportation, pedestrian, and parkway improvements.
Canadian Pacific Spur to bike/pedestrian trail study | The City of Saint Paul conducted a study to re-imagine the potential of the Ford Spur, a five-mile rail corridor in Saint Paul. The Ford Spur connects the West 7th and Highland neighborhoods of Saint Paul and is owned by Canadian Pacific (CP) Railway.
These projects have received approvals and may already be under construction.
796 Stewart Avenue | Construction has began - this lot will be home to two "duplex" style buildings which will have individual living spaces and communal areas and amenities.
1600 W 7th Street | The old Burger King building has been demolished to make way for a dental clinic.
Sam Morgan Regional Trail reconstruction - segments 1 & 4. Construction beginning Spring 2024.
River Learning Center | The Mississippi River Learning Center, located at Crosby Farm Regional Park, is a one-of-a-kind space for hosting environmental learning including year-round programming that honors, teaches, and promotes stewardship of the River and adjacent landscapes.
Great River Passage Initiative | The Great River Passage is a bold initiative to steward and tap into the potential of the 26 miles of riverfront in Saint Paul. By advancing major projects along the Mississippi River and supporting unique programming opportunities that allow people to experience the river in new ways, Great River Passage fosters environmental stewardship, community health and economic development.
Victoria Park Project | Victoria Park is one block south of West 7th Street bordered by Montreal Way to the west, Otto Avenue to the east, Mississippi River to the south and Mississippi Market Co-Op and Sholom Community Alliance to the north. The 40.4 acre site is divided by the Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul railroad. The construction of the multi-use field began Summer 2024.
